Target's Newest Collab Gives Back And Looks Great

Target's latest collaboration is not with any one specific designer—it's better.

For its latest partnership, the big box retailer has teamed up with Accompany, an e-retailer dedicated to selling and promoting ethical fashion. "Accompany's mission is to build income-generating opportunities for local people across the developing world," says founder Jason Keehn in their press release.

"Today people are more culturally connected than ever, which creates a desire for aesthetics from every corner of the world," says Julie Guggemos, senior vice president of product design & development at Target. The collaboration includes artisanal, fair-trade items from six countries across five continents. Kuni bowls are hand-carved in Nairobi, Kenya, Ecuadorian bangles are made from Acai beads, and blankets are made on the loom in India. But the outreach isn't limited to international affairs; Stateside support includes goods made at the Women's Center in Los Angeles, California.

"Traditional crafts and indigenous methods for creating products are being lost every day," Keehn continues. "Through our partnership with Target, we're able to shine a spotlight on the communities creating these goods and [can[help them continue their traditions, now and in the future."

The collection is available to shop at select Target locations and Target.com.
